St John’s Hospice named as a Supported Charity for the Lakes Charity Classic Vehicle Show 2025

Every year we nominate a “Supported Charity” to be a beneficiary from the money raised from the Lakes Charity Classic Vechicle Show, as well as retaining some of the proceeds within the Windermere & Ambleside Lions Club Charity for local distribution.

In the past, this has resulted in substantial donations going to organisations including:

We are very pleased to announce that the 2025 Supported Charity will be St John’s Hospice

About St John’s Hospice

St John’s Hospice is a local charity which provides free palliative care to patients with life shortening conditions. Our services cover a population area of 250,000 people in North Lancashire, South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. We have been caring for our community every minute of every day since 1986.

St John’s Hospice has been part of the local community for over 35 years and provides vital service to patients and families all over our community. Our aim is to ensure that on the journey towards the end of life, we provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

Our services focus on improving patients’ symptoms, and end of life care. The hospice’s experienced team of specialists work together with our patients to make sure they are getting the care and support they need to live their life their way, as much as possible.

At St John’s Hospice, we are proud that our service provides a caring, inclusive environment. Our community of patients, carers, supporters, and their families are treated equally, as individuals, with respect, dignity, compassion and empathy. Everyone can be confident they will receive the same high standards of care, whoever they may be.
