A Jingle Bell Jog is heading to the shores of Windermere on Sunday 4th December 2016. Run by Windermere and Ambleside Lions Club and sponsored by The Angel Inn this is the second year the event has run. Last year saw hundreds of locals and visitors enter and take part dressed as Father Christmas, Reindeers, Elves, polar bears and everything in between.
Entrants of all ages and abilities will stumble, walk, jog and run around a short flat scenic course in Bowness on the shores of Lake Windermere. The event has been billed as the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit and have fun raising money for local charity Sight Advice South Lakeland.
There are awards for wheelchairs, pushchairs, Christmas spirit, best dressed dog and more with prizes coming from local businesses such as The World of Beatrix Potter and the Sour Dough Pizza Co. Entrants will be warmed up by Ursula Brendling from Workout Warriors and Bowness and Windermere Community Choir will be raising the roof with festive songs ensuring everyone is in the Christmas Spirit.
The Event Director for the Jingle Bell Jog is Lion Chris Burstow and he commented saying: “Last year the event really took off and it was fantastic to see a whole range of ages and abilities come dressed up and enjoy the day. This year we look forward to even more people joining us on the shores of Windermere for this fantastic family fun charity fundraiser.”
